UNRRA inform us that resulting from further
conversations with Mrs. Scott they would be disposed
to examine application by His Majesty's Government for assistance to Hong Kong to the extent of $800,000 to
1 million along lines of paragraph 2 of my telegram
No. 3023, and would probably accede to it as in the
case of the Philippines.
2. Such assistance would be independent of any
assistance by Used Clothing which might perhaps be
granted against a request to the Used Clothing Committee
of UNRRA from the allotment to British Possessions Far
East.
